InfoQ's Agile section just posted a presentation that questions the reliance on caffeine in agile workplaces, that caffeine usage masks the fact that development tends to take place in very poor environments, in terms of amount of sleep, natural light, physical breaks, and daylight rhythms. Interestingly, studies show that introverts (the majority of developers) don't experience the performance improvements from caffeine that extroverts do.
