With the explosion of activity around the Kindle Fire and iPad, it seems that tablets are sure to succeed and to stay. Here are some tips for tablets that I gleened from a SitePoint article, which urged us to change our development practices to keep up:
Big issues:
- design for mobile first (which is recommended for universal design)
- test at 1024 x 600 and 600 x 1024 (landscape and portrait)
- test in webkit browsers: Chrome and Safari
Techie issues:
- have JavaScript event handlers support touch devices
- try responsive layouts and media queries

Yet another permutation for design!
